Cinelan, the company devoted to short documentary films, has struck an online syndication deal with Telegraph Media Group and telegraph.co.uk.

Its films are playing in front of the 16 features at the BritDoc festival this week in Oxford.

Cinelan also plans to distribute its films via mobile phones, Internet sites, TV and digital cinemas. The company is currently discussing coming on to Channel 4's 3 Minute Wonder strand and its theatrical partner Picturehouse Cineams.

That relationship beteween Channel 4 and Cinelan will kick of with commissions for four shorts by young US directors ahead of the US presidential elections.

Cinelan COO David Laks said: 'Cinelan films have been well received by high profile partners in the UK and the US, and as we continue to cement valuable partnerships for international distribution we expect to drive significant demand for our filmmakers and their short films in the coming months.'
