Cinema Expo International will honour directorAndrew Adamson with the convention's 2006 International Filmmaker of the Yearaward.

Adamson directed The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, which has grossed more than$735m worldwide. He previously directed Shrek and Shrek 2.

He will receive the award at the Cinema Expo Awardson June 29 in Amsterdam.

"Cinema Expo is thrilled to honour Andrew Adamsonin recognition of his tremendous success this past year with The Chronicles of Narniaand for his incredible ability to entertain and delight moviegoers of all agesworldwide," said Mitch Neuhauser, co-managingdirector of the annual convention. "He is a fantastic director and storytellerwith talent beyond belief."

Adamson has two films in pre-production. One is thesecond of the Narnia trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspianwhich is slated to start production by the end of this year. He is currentlyworking on Shrek 3, due for a May 2007 release.
