Per Fly's The Inheritance, which won six Danish Film Academy's Robert awards last week, has been picked up for US release by The Cinema Guild's Philip Hobel and Ryan Krivoshey.

The film was the most popular local release last year in Denmark and was in the main competition in San Sebastian, where it won the Jury Prize for best script.

Fly's feature debut The Bench won five major prizes at the Robert Awards three years ago.

The Inheritance is Fly's first film to get US release and is expected to be released this summer.

Inheritance was produced by veteran Ib Tardini (In Your Hands, Italian For Beginners) and is sold by Trust Film Sales.

Among the Cinema Guild's upcoming releases are the Icelandic drama comedy The Seagull's Laughter, and recent releases include Secret Lives, The Bank and The Interview.
