Spain's 19th annual Cinema Jove International Film Festival (June 19-26) will dedicate a retrospective to the early works of Roman Polanski.

The youth-oriented festival, which last year hosted a cycle on the Young Coppola, will screen feature and short films Polanski shot before he turned 35.

New French Filmmakers will be featured in the fest's open-air screenings, while young Spanish actor Jordi Vilches (Two Tough Guys) will receive the Future of Film prize.

The Valencia festival also hosts an international short film sales market. One new short film project will be awarded production with the backing of Canal Plus, Television Valencia, Pecera Estudio and Southern Sun.
