Leading LatinAmerican exhibitor Cinemark International is preparing to open two newmultiplexes in Colombia and Brazil this month.

The company willunveil its eight-screen San Rafael Theatre in the Paseo San Rafael Mall in thesoutheastern part of Bogota, Colombia, on Aug 13. The 1,645 seater will beCinemark's fifth property in the country.

Two weeks lateron Aug 27 a 2,000-seat, seven-screen site is scheduled to open in Brazil in thePlaza Shopping Niteroi shopping centre in Niteroi, a booming city next to RioDe Janeiro. Cinemark currently owns 32 cinemas in Brazil.

Both theatres will offerstadium-style seating, high-backed rocker chairs with cup holder armrests, andwall-to-wall screens.

Cinemark, whichcelebrated its 20th anniversary this year, operates 3,255 screens in 13countries outside the United States including Argentina, Mexico, Peru andTaiwan.
