Buyers are rallying to Ironclad, the historical action epic being sold by ContentFilm International at the AFM.

Sales for far include Square One in Germany, Village Films in Greece, Bowline for Czech and Slovak Republics, Pro Films in Bulgaria, Italia in the Middle East, Cinestar Films in Philippines, Monolith in Poland, Lusomundo in Portugal, Media  Pro in Romania, Antena 3 in Spain, Sahmongkol in Thailand, and Umut Sanat in Turkey. Airlines and ships have been bought by Jaguar.

The director is Jonathan English (Minotaur) from a script by English and Erick Kastel. The film is produced by Mythic’s Rick Benattar (Shoot ‘em Up) and Andrew Curtis (Lost In La Mancha).  Shooting started on 9th October on location and at Dragon International Film Studios in Wales.

Set in thirteenth Century England, at the time of King John and the Magna Carta treaty, Ironclad tells the true story of a motley crew of tough, battle hardened warriors, who withstood several brutal and bloody months under siege, in a  desperate bid to defend their country’s freedom. The cast includes Paul Giamatti, James Purefoy, Brian Cox, Mackenzie Crook, Jason Flemying, Derek Jacobi and Kate Mara.
