Greek director Costa-Gavras and Spanish actor Jose Luis Ozores will receive tributes at this year's 28th annual Valladolid International Film Week (aka Seminci) (Oct 24-Nov 1).

Other sections will be dedicated to Belgian cinema and films shot in Tehran. The festival's traditional Film Schools section, which highlights works from film schools around the world, will this year focus on the Madrid Film School (ECAM).

The festival calls Costa-Gavras' filmography "one of the most coherent, varied and enriching of contemporary cinema." Among the director's films are Z, The Confession, Mad City and Amen.

A deft comedian who made dozens of films in the 1950's and 1960's, popular actor Ozores died unexpectedly in 1968. Among his credits are The Last Horse, That Happy Pair, The Rocket From Calabuch and Retiro Park.

Valladolid hosts feature film and short film competitions, a showcase of more offbeat films competing for an audience award, two documentary sections and a showing of Spanish films from the year.
