Penelope Cruz and Danny DeVito have joined the cast of InfernoDistribution's $15m New York-set romantic comedy The Good Night.

As previously announced Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin Freeman and SimonPegg star in the story of a former pop star relegated to writing advertisingjingles who lives through his dreams.

Cruz will play the female lead opposite Freeman, who starred in TheHitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and BBC's hit series The Office, while DeVito plays a dream doctor.

Graham Taylor from Endeavor brought the project to Inferno and isrepresenting domestic rights. UK and Spanish rights have been pre-sold toMomentum and Aurum.

Shooting is due to begin on Nov 14 at London's Ealing Studios witha few days scheduled for New York in January.

Grosvenor Park is co-financing with Inferno, and Donna Gigliotti,whose credits include Shakespeare In Love and Possession, will produce the project with Inferno partner Bill Johnson.Inferno partner Jim Seibel is serving as executive producer.

"We fell in love with this script when we first read itearlier this year and knew that it would attract a strong cast," Infernopartner Bill Johnson said.

Inferno's AFMslate includes Roger Kumble's $18.5m romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds, which New Linehas for North America and John Carpenter's $20m thriller The 13th Apostle, which is in pre production.
