Stuart Little 2 continued its steady international march over the weekend, amassing another $2.7m for Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International (CTFDI) to give a healthy $73.2m cumulative total.

Currently showing on 2,270 screens, the family sequel is expected to reach $90m and has an outside chance of passing $100m. In its only new opening the picture took $170,000 from 70 screens in Denmark. Stuart held well in Australia, Germany and German-speaking territories due to school holidays. In Australia grosses were up 31% on last weekend, with $900,000 contributing to a $3.9m running total. In Germany grosses were up 42% in the picture's sixth week on release.

Meanwhile XXX, playing on 1,750 international screens, nabbed several number one spots from a $5.4m weekend haul that raised its cumulative score to $24.2m. Opening in Korea, the action thriller took $2m from 133 screens for a dynamic $15,000+ screen average. The opening gross beat recent bows by Signs and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones. The picture opened number one in Mexico with $1.5m from 500 prints, higher than Minority Report and Tomb Raider and within 5% of The Scorpion King. XXX held well in Australia and New Zealand for the school holidays: in the former it only dropped 16% - a strong hold in its fourth week - to gross $475,000 for a near-$5m cumulative score, while in New Zealand XXX took $220,000 in its second week, dropping by just 29%.

XXX also opened number one in Venezuela with $175,000 from 75 screens and beating The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring. In South Africa it took $85,000 in its fourth week and kept its iron grip on the top spot. XXX opens in France on Wednesday, followed by weekend bows in the UK, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.
