EuropaCorp artistic advisor Francois Da Silva has left the company to establish his own boutique consultancy, Novo Films.

The Paris-based outfit will advise on international co-production projects and acquisitions, with a focus on emerging territories, for a range of clients including EuropaCorp.

Among the projects that Da Silva is advising on is Hong Kong filmmaker Yu Lik Wai's upcoming Plastic City, about the Japanese community in Sao Paolo, which is being set up as a Hong Kong-Brazil-Japan co-production.

During his four years at EuropaCorp, Da Silva brought in projects like Ong Bak and Wisit Sasanatieng's Citizen Dog, and set up co-productions including Wisit's upcoming Nam Prix.

Before joining EuropaCorp he worked as artistic director for Cannes ' Directors Fortnight.
