Ole Christian Madsen's acclaimed Dogme title Kira's Reason (En Kaerlighedshistorie) bagged five major prizes at the Danish Oscars, the 19th Robert Film Awards

Kira's Reason won best direction, best film and best script (Ole Christian Madsen, Mogens Rukov) as well as best actress for Stine Stengade, making her feature debut as Kira.

The film, which also won best editing for Soren B. Ebbe, was produced by Morten Kaufman and Bo Ehrhardt for Nimbus Film. First Run Features recently picked up Kira's Reason for the US.

Other awards went to actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas for his lead role in Ake Sandgren's Truly Human (Et Rigtigt Menneske), and the best supporting actors were Birthe Neumann (Chop Chop/Fukssvansen) and Troel Lyby (Shake It All About/En Kort En Lang). Hella Joof's crowdpleaser Shake It All About was also the winner of the audience award, voted for via the internet. The film topped 480,000 admissions over the weekend.

Among the other award-winners were Phie Ambo and Sami Saif's Family for best documentary, best cinematography went to Jens Schlosser (The King Is Alive) and Hummer Hojmark, Steen Lyders and Kris Kolodziejski (Digital FilmLab) for special effects on the family adventure Jolly Roger.

Berlinale Kinderfilmfest contender My Sister's Kids from Tomas Villum Jensen took the award in the new category for Best Children's and Family-film. It is sold in Berlin by Nordisk Film International Sales. Trust Film Sales handle Kira's Reason, Chop Chop and Truly Human. Germany's Bavaria Sales are representing Shake It All About at the European film market.

The Danish association of film critics give out their prestigious Bodil-awards on Mar 3, where the nominees for best film included Bille August's A Song For Martin, Ake Sandgren's Truly Human, Gert Fredholm's One Hand Clapping, Ole Christian Madsen's Kira's Reason and Sami Saif's documentary Family.
