Danish film veteranGert Fredholm, who returned to feature filmmaking after a 20 year hiatus with One Hand Clapping in 2001, is to shoothis new film Dommeren (literally TheJudge).

Like Fredholm'scomeback movie it is written and produced by Mikael Olsen and will star PeterGantzler and Jens Okking. It follows a dynamic and career conscious judge andchairman of the Refugee Board, who is thrown into both a personal andprofessional whirlwind, when a well-known politician commits suicide afterhaving his asylum case rejected. At the same time, he is confronted with theson he put up for adoption 15 years ago.

The film shootsfrom Sep 22 until Nov 17. Olsen produces the $2.8m (DKK17m) drama for ZentropaEntertainments with Peter Aalbaek Jensen acting as executive producer. NordiskFilm handle domestic distribution and Trust Film Sales international rights.

Olsen previouswriting credits include Prop & Berta(2001) and The Last Viking (1997),and Fredholm's directing credits include the award-winning comedy drama The Missing Clerk (1971), the thriller Terror (1977) and the children's film Little Virgil (1980).
