Dendy Films has acquired Australian and New Zealand rights to writer/director Tod Williams' Door In The Floor and to Capturing The Friedmans, the Grand Jury Prize winner in documentary at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Door In The Floor is an adaptation of John Irving's novel A Widow For One Year and stars Jeff Bridges as a famous children's book author and Kim Basinger as is his wife. It is set during one pivotal summer in the privileged beach community of East Hampton in New York and was produced by Ted Hope whose credits include The Ice Storm and In The Bedroom.

Dendy is billing Capturing The Friedmans as embodying the difficulty of capturing the truth. Director Andrew Jarecki uses family home videos, present-day interviews, and observational footage to inquire not just into a life in turmoil but also a community, a legal system and an era.

Dendy's next two releases are Scottish director Lynne Ramsay's Morvern Callar, starring Samantha Morton and adapted from Alan Warner's novel, and writer/director Kathryn Millard's debut feature Travelling Light, starring Pia Miranda and Sacha Horler.
