Urban-focused production company Deon Taylor Enterprises (DTE) has launched a genre label.

Nite Tales Presents is inspired by Nite Tales, the 1998 horror anthology narrated by rapper Flavor Flav that Taylor co-wrote and served as executive producer on.

The company will create genre content for film and television as well as animated children’s series and a branded interactive online platform.

Former NBA star basketball player Mitch Richmond (pictured) joins Taylor as a partner and will serve as executive producer for the label. Another well-known name from basketball, Bobby Jackson, and current NFL American football player Ephraim Salaam are lending their financial heft as executive producers alongside DTE’s Roxanne Avent.

Taylor will direct and produce for the label and collaborate with such writers as Thomas Fenton from Saw VI. Flavor Flav has signed on as the recurring host and face of Nite Tales Presents.

The first two features to go will be the two-part anthology Dark Christmas and Terminated.

“There is a substantial market for original, high quality, urban-themed horror content and Nite Tales Presents is a label created to provide just that,” Taylor said.
