Wavelength Pictures has sold Bacon's Arena to Diffusion Pictures for the UK and Ireland. This follows on a French deal with Pretty Pictures.

Diffusion's UK release will coincide with the forthcoming Francis Bacon centenary exhibition at London's Tate Britain, which opens Sept 8.

This follows on soon after the conclusion of a deal for all French rights with Pretty Pictures.

Wavelength Pictures director John Flahive says, 'Diffusion Pictures have impressed both ourselves and the Estate of Francis Bacon with their enthusiasm for the project and we are looking forward to a productive relationship in the run-up to the release and centenary exhibition'.

Originally broadcast by the BBC in 2005, the documentary has been expanded into a bigger package for DVD release.
