The Weinstein Company (TWC) has picked up North American rightsfrom Distant Horizon to Darrell James Roodt's safari thriller Prey.

Bridget Moynahan, Peter Weller, Jamie Bartlett and Carly Schroederstar in the story of American tourists who get lost in an African game reserveand find themselves at the mercy of lions.

Roodt, who previously directed Yesterday, Sarafina!, and Cry, The Beloved Country, co-wrote the screenplay with BeauBauman and Jeff Wadlow.

The Videovision Entertainment production in association withDistant Horizon and Ingenious Films was produced by Distant Horizon president AnantSingh and Helena Spring. Peter Schlessel, Sudhir Pragjee and Sanjeev Singhserved as executive producers.

TWC director of acquisitions Eileen Rodriguez negotiated the dealwith Schlessel and Alan Grodin of Weismann, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman, Grodin andEvall on behalf of Distant Horizon.

Singh and theWeinsteins first worked together in 1992 on Sarafina!
