The full list of nomineeshas been announced for this year's jury-based Irish Film and Television Awards(IFTAs).

Major nomination recipients include Treasure Entertainment'sMan About Dog with ten nominations,Porridge Pictures' Adam & Paulwith eight, and Octagon Films' Inside I'm Dancing and Timbuktu which scored seven nominations each.

Only one of the four films, Lenny Abrahamson's Adam &Paul, has so far been released in Ireland,while Paddy Breathnach's Man About Dog is released today (Friday Oct 1) and Damien O'Donnell's InsideI'm Dancing is released on October 15.

Acting talent on the shortlist includes a range ofestablished names like Peter O'Toole (Troy- supporting actor), Brenda Fricker (Inside I'm Dancing), and Colin Farrell (A Home at the End ofthe World), as well as relative newcomerssuch as Eva Birthistle (Ae Fond Kiss, Timbuktu), and Tom Murphy (Adam & Paul).

According to the IFTA organisers submissions to the awardsprocess were up by 30% on last year and were shortlisted by 122 Irish andinternational jury members who will now select the winners to be announced atthe awards ceremony on October 30.
