Principal photography on thethird production from the Studio Hamburg WorldWide Pictures (WWP) fund, Dungeons& Dragons II: The Elemental Might, is scheduled to begin in Vilnius,Lithuania, on July 26.

Zink Entertainment, adivision of Joel Silver's Silver Pictures, which produced the first film basedon the internationally popular role-playing game, is acting as the serviceproducer for WWP. Distribution for the USA and certain other territories hasalready been picked up by Warner Home Video, with world sales being handled byFirst Look Media.

The fantasy adventure, whichis being shot on high definition video, will be directed by Gerry Lively with acast including Justin Whalin, Bruce Payne and Zoe McLellan.
WWP's managing director and producer Wolfgang Esenwein said the reason forbacking the film is that it "is not only interesting from the perspective ofreturn on capital. We also decided on the film so as to spread our risk, forthe subject appeals to young and adult fantasy and role-game enthusiasts.'

WWP's previous twoproductions were the Irish music comedy The Boys From County Clare andthe family film Chestnut: Hero of Central Park.
