New international production-distribution company Entera has appointed three executives to form its cross-Atlantic production and acquisitions team.

Los Angeles-based Keith Resnick will act as head of production for the US; Christopher Brough, head of production in Canada; and Madrid-based Margaret Nicoll, director of international production.

Entera was formed by US media entrepreneur Jeff Simmons and former top Columbia TriStar distribution executives Tony Manne, Ricardo Avila and Richard Dassonville. Details of the new company are expected to be unveiled shortly, but initial plans are understood to encompass the financing and acquisition of a range of films for distribution in the big-five European territories of the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Theatrical and video/DVD distribution deals for each territory seem likely to follow on a previously reported video/DVD deal with Medusa Film in Italy. Prior Sony Television Entertainment president-international Nick Bingham will take charge of worldwide television sales.

Resnick previously worked with Simmons at Golden West Television Productions and InterStar Releasing, and was also formerly with Legacy Releasing.

Brough was co-founder and president of Canadian companies BLT Productions, Mainframe Entertainment and The Sextant Entertainment Group.

Nicoll worked at Spanish media group Sogecable for twelve years before leaving the general manager post at rights arm Sogepaq in 2001 to launch her own international financing company, New Zeal.
