The Era New Horizons International Film Festival, which is held in the city of Wroclaw, Poland from 23 July to 2 August, has announced its competition lineup competing for the Grand Prix for best film and a guarantee of distribution in Poland.

The festival, which opens with Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winning The White Ribbon, will feature the following films in competition: Henrik Hellstrom and Fredrik Wenzel’s Burrowing (Sweden), Cyrus Frisch’s Dazzle (Netherlands), Kim Gok’s Exhausted (Korea), Tsai Ming-liang’s Face (France/Taiwan), Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor’s Helen, Steve McQueen’s Hunger (UK), Alain Cavalier’s Irene (France), Philippe Grandrieux’s Un Lac (France), Craig Baldwin’s Mock Up On Mu (US), Pedro Costa’s Ne Change Rien, Iwan Wyrypajew’s Oxygen, Yeo Joon Ha’s $e11.ou7! – SELL OUT (Malaysia), Ishibashi Kiyomi’s Spyder (Japan) and Tian Gao and Joshua Tong’s Twilight Dancing (China).

The festival, in its ninth year this year, has a mission of presenting original films which “reach beyond the borders of conventional cinema.
