The industry veteran becomes the third president of chairman and CEO Ashok Amritraj’s sales company within nine months.

Christenson replaces Ruzanna Kegeyan, who told Amritraj before Cannes that she was looking to move on after her arrival in September 2011 to replace Mimi Steinbauer, who has since set up Radiant Films International.

Christenson served as president of acquisitions and distribution at Hollywood Studios International for more than two years before leaving in April. Prior to HSI he consulted for Voltage Pictures and handled international sales for Graham King.

HPI vp John Short and the Hyde Park creative team of Marc Fiorentino, Mike Dougherty, CFO Bob Lewis and director of business affairs Allen Babakhanloo will work with Christenson on the sales slate.

“Hyde Park has a tradition as one of the top-level, global independent film companies with significant financial resources,” Christenson said. “I am honoured to work with Ashok Amritraj as president of the international division. I am looking forward to aggressively building our future slate of projects.”

HPI’s Cannes roster included family adventure Midnight Sun, Untitled Elmore Leonard Project starring Jennifer Aniston and Dennis Quaid, Adult World starring Emma Roberts and John Cusack and the inspirational drama Sunlight Jr with Naomi Watts and Matt Dillon.
