The nominations for thisyear's European Film Awards will be announced at the Seville Film Festival onSunday.

The event (November 4-12)will also host the presentation of the European actors selected for ShootingStars 2005.

Seville's festival is decicatedtedentirely to European cinema, with 160 films and $290,000in prizes for the Spanish distributors of winning titles.

French director Patrice Chereau, Hungary's Bela Tarrand Spanish-Dutch director Sonia Herman Dolz are thesubjects of special tributes festival, which is also highlighting cinema from France through various sidebars.

Chereau's Venicescreener Gabrielle will close the festival, which opens with another Frenchfilm, Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu's Cannes competitor ToPaint Or Make Love (Peindre Ou Faire L'Amour).

Fourteen European films arecompeting in the official section for the Golden Giraldillo,which comes with Euros 60,000 for the winner's Spanish distributor, and theSilver Giraldillo and Jury's Special Prize, whichboth come with Euros 30,000. Four other competitive sections also boast atop prize worth Euros 30,000 for the Spanish distributor.
