The festival, now in its sixth edition, will take place in April in Paris.
The European Independent Film Festival (ECU) has announced the line up for its sixth edition, which will run April 1-3 in Paris.
78 films from 25 countries will be competing for twenty awards, including the Europe’s Best Independent Film 2011 prize.
World premieres include Fabien Latrigue and Gabrielle Cserhati’s 27 m2, Marcus Pajter’s A Damn Killer and Manfreid Lucibello’s Storia di Nessunom whilst Hesham Issawi’s Cairo Exit will have its European premiere.
Also competing will be Tornike Bziave’s Georgian feature The April Chill. The festival will also host a series of workshops hosted by industry professionals on scriptwriting, editing and directing, as well as a “Meet The Directors” session.
“ÉCU 2011’s official selection slate exemplifies the passion of independent filmmaking,” said ECU’s preseident Scott Hillier.
“These are films that are made by filmmakers who are driven by a desire so strong to tell their stories that they bare their souls on the screen. We will be projecting films that will touch the audiences and remain in their thoughts for a long time.”
