Jim Fall, director of Trick and The LizzieMaguire Movie, has signed on to direct the English-language remake of1999 Thai comedy 6IXTYNIN9. International sales are handled by FortissimoFilm Sales, which has also boarded the next pictures by Larry Clark and Spain's Manuel Gomez Pereira.

The $10m film is to be produced by Fran Rubel Kuzui for Bohemian Filmsand Tom Gorai for ShadowcatcherEntertainment. John Patrick Nelson is currently writing the screenplay which isscheduled to go before the cameras in summer 2005 in a yet to be determined UScity. The original was the breakout hit for Thai director Pen-Ek Ratanaruang,who more recently delivered Bohemian's first film, the hit Last Life In TheUniverse.

Fortissimo was recently appointed byWarner Bros as sales agent for new gay comedy Queens (Reinas) by Boca A Boca director Gomez Pereiraand has picked up Wassup Rockers, by controversial US directorClark.

Queens, which startedproduction on Aug 17 takes place over a long weekend and features six boys,five mothers, one man and a dog preparing for a mass gay wedding. It boasts astar-studded cast including Marisa Paredes, Veronica Forque, Carmen Maura andMercedes Sampietro (pictured). Fortissimo has all rights outside Spain andItaly, where Warner will itself release the picture in July 2005.

Clark, who previously delivered sexyyouth shocker Ken Park for Fortissimo, is now in pre-production on Wassup.

Based on the original film by Last Life In The Universe director Pen-EkRatanaruang, 6IXTYNIN9 is the story of a young woman who wants to geton a reality show in order tochange her boring life, but comes home one night to find that dead bodies are stacking up in her apartment at an alarmingrate.

Bohemianis the production label launched two years ago by Fortissimo chiefs WouterBarendrecht and Michael J Werner with Tokyo- and Los Angeles-based duo Fran andKaz Kazui. Shadowcatcher president David Skinner, Barendrecht, Werner and KazKuzui take executive producer credits.
