LouiseArchambault's Famillahas been named the winner of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television'sannual Claude Jutra Award for first-time filmmakers.

The prize,sponsored by the National Film Board of Canada, will be presented at the 26thGenie Awards held on March 13 in Toronto. Written by Archambault and producedby Luc Dery, Familiais a production of Montreal-based production company micro_scope anddistributed by Christal Films.

The Academy alsoconfirmed that Jean-Marc Vallee's C.R.A.Z.Y. will be this recipient of its GoldenReel prize, an acknowledgement of its status as the highest-grossing Canadianfilm on release the previous year.

C.R.A.Z.Y., recently released on home video in Canada,grossed $5.4m (C$6.2m) during the qualifying period of January 1, 2005 toDecember 31, 2006. C.R.A.Z.Y. is nominated for 12 Genie Awards. Produced by Pierre Even andVallee, C.R.A.Z.Y. isdistributed by TVA Films.
