Spanish mini-studio The Filmax Group is developing an "Asian-style action movie" for its Fantastic Factory genre film division, according to Factory co-producer and director Brian Yuzna.

"The money we would usually put into effects we'll put into stunts," Yuzna said. Filmax plans to bring in Asian talent to further develop and carry out the project.

The Factory slate, led by Yuzna's recently wrapped Faust, is closing wide sales at Cannes this year. Faust is planned for an October release in Spain, in timing with the sci-fi festival in Sitges. Yuzna says Filmax has signed a deal with Roadrunner Music for the world release of Faust's heavy metal soundtrack.
