Unjoo Moon is to direct an adaptation of children's book The Wicked, Wicked Ladies In The HauntedHouse. She directed short film, Sorrow'sChild in 1998 and this will be her feature debut.

It also looks likely to bethe next project for Moon's cinematographer husband, DionBeebe who won an Oscar for Memoirs Of A Geisha and was previously nominated for Chicago. He is the sixth Australian DoPto win an Oscar and the fifth since 1990.

The book, set in Edwardiantimes, was written by Pulitzer Prize winning Mary Close and first published inthe 1960s under the title The WickedPigeon Ladies In The Garden. Moon read it as achild and optioned it several years ago.

The LA-based Australians areworking with producer Marian Macgowan whose creditsinclude, Two Hands which helped bringworld attention to Heath Ledger. Macgowan plans toproduce Gillian Armstrong's Death DefyingActs, shooting in London and Scotland later this year, before commencing work on, Wicked. The producer is securing finalfinancing on the ghost story, planned as a Canadian/Australian co-productionwith a Canadian shoot pencilled in for early 2007 with post-production tofollow in Australia.
