Pinewood Atlanta Studios president Frank Patterson chaired a packed presentation and networking event with Georgia Film Academy (GFA) at High West Distillery & Saloon in Park City.

Patterson was joined by GFA’s Jeffrey Stepakoff at a panel followed by networking reception on Friday (20).

“Pinewood Atlanta Studios represents a big opportunity in Georgia for independent filmmakers,” said Patterson. “The combination of our flexible studio space, locations and experienced local crews make for an unbeatable indie package.”

The facility comprises 18 purpose-built sound stages and accommodates production of film, television, music and video games for producers to access the state of Georgia’s tax incentives.

The GFA was launched in 2015 with the support of Georgia governor Nathan Deal and the department of economic development and legislature. It sets up training sites around the state to support the production business.

Its first industry site at Pinewood Atlanta Studios provides indie filmmakers with the opportunity to tap into certified below-the-line interns and enhanced production resources.

Film industry growth in Georgia is projected to generate between 3,000 and 5,000 new jobs in the next three to five years.

Pinewood Atlanta Studios’ newest division, Pinewood Production Services Georgia, offers support and solutions to productions at all budget levels and showcases the services of local vendor partners. Eoin Egan, senior vice-president of Pinewood International, and Kevin Bar, vice-president of Pinewood International, oversee the division.
