Sweden-born and UK-raised, MyAnna Buring (pronounced ‘Me-Anna’) hit the ground running on graduation from LAMDA with a prominent role in Neil Marshall’s 2005 horror film The Descent.

In the last year her career has really taken off, with a six-month shoot for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2. She plays vampire clan head Tania, a role she landed from a taped audition. Almost simultaneously will come the release of low-budget horror Kill List, a Warp X project for director Ben Wheatley, which goes out in the UK via Optimum later this year after a well-received SXSW premiere. The icing on the cake is the upcoming six-part drama series White Heat written by Paula Milne and produced by ITV Studios for BBC2. “I’ve always felt lucky because I’ve always worked,” Buring says. “But suddenly this year it has got quite a lot bigger — I’m going into meetings I’d never have had before and it’s not daunting, it’s exciting.”
