Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) has appointed Fernando Ojeda as managing director, Universal Pictures Benelux.

Ojeda currently holds the title of managing director Universal Pictures Brazil. He will take over his new role on 20 February, with a remit to further develop UPIE’s Benelux home entertainment business, which acquired DVD/Blu-ray distribution rights for Paramount in 2011 and distributes Studio Canal content alongside Universal’s home entertainment slate and other third party titles.

Prior to joining Universal Pictures Brazil in January 2011, Ojeda held a number of COO roles in entertainment businesses in Spain.

He will report to Pauline Grimaldi D’Esdra, regional managing director France and Benelux.
