Elephant Eye Films has announced its AFM slate and will seek to tempt buyers with Sebastian Silva’s Old Cats and Victoria Mahoney’s debut feature Yelling To The Sky, among others

Silva’s follow-up to his acclaimed 2009 Chilean comedy The Maid again stars Catalina Saavedra, this time as the girlfriend of a woman who is trying to coerce her elderly parents in Santiago to join a get-rich-quick scheme.

Old Cats is the first film produced under the Elephant Eye Films umbrella of film-maker services that offers assistance with production, domestic distribution and international sales.

“This has always been our goal: producing a film that we can guide through the distribution and sales process,” Elephant Eye partners Kim Jose and David Robinson said.

“We hope the success of Old Cats will send a signal to film-makers, demonstrating that a prestigious release and expert sales are the outcome when the producers who have been with the film since day one are involved.”

Yelling To The Sky stars Zoe Kravitz, Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe of Precious fame and Tim Blake Nelson and portrays a mixed-race New York City teenager who has to deal with bullying.

The roster includes John Spellos’s documentary On The Street, which chronicles 80s New York as seen through the lens of legendary photographer Amy Arbus.
