Myriad Pictures president and CEO Kirk D’Amico has reported a successful market for the financial thriller, closing numerous territories such as Germany, Italy and Australia.

D’Amico licensed rights to Degato and Koch Media for Germany, Rai Cinema for Italy and Becker in Australia.

Deals also closed in Scandinavia (Svensk), Mexico (Gussi), Brazil (Paris Filmes), Canada (Alliance), Argentina (Distribution Co), Latin America (Videx) and Peru (Eurofilms).

Rights have also gone to China (DDDream), Russia (CD Land), Poland (Monolith), Middle East (Eagle), Turkey (D Productions), Ukraine (Aurora), former Yugoslavia and Romania (P4M) and Star TV for pan-Asian pay-TV.

D’Amico screened a promo for buyers during the market. Margin Call is being tipped for a major festival in early 2011 and follows the players at a fictitious investment bank in the 24 hours leading up to the 2008 financial crash.

Kevin Spacey (pictured) stars alongside Jeremy Irons, Stanley Tucci, Demi Moore, Zachary Quinto, Paul Bettany, Penn Badgley, Simon Baker and Mary McDonnell. J C Chandor wrote and directed his feature debut.

“The buyers have responded very positively to the promo, which shows off the extraordinary performances of the cast and the overall strength of the film,” D’Amico said.

Neal Dodson, Quinto and Corey Moosa produced through their Before The Door Pictures. Benaroya Pictures’ Michael Benaroya and Robert Ogden Barnum are also producing with Joe Jenckes. Cassian Elwes, Laura Rister and D’Amico serve as executive producers.

Myriad was also taking to buyers at AFM about the action comedy Goon that stars Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Eugene Levy and Liev Schreiber and is currently shooting in Canada.
