QED International and Worldview Entertainment are teaming up on a project for AFM for the second time and will jointly finance and produce Term Life starring Vince Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld. Universal will distribute in the US.

The crime thriller centres on a man hunted by a mob who must survive for three more weeks in order for a new life insurance policy to benefit his estranged daughter.

QED and Worldview will jointly finance and produce Term Life. CAA packaged and arranged financing and brokered the deal. Principal photography will commence in 2014.

Peter Billingsley will direct from a script by Andy Lieberman. Producers are Vaughn, Victoria Vaughn and Micah Mason of Wild West Picture Show Productions, QED’s Bill Block and Worldview’s Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners.

Anton Lessine and Sasha Shapiro will serve as executive producers alongside Worldview’s Maria Cestone and Sarah E Johnson.

“We’re excited to partner with Universal on Term Life, which is exactly the sort of exciting, high-calibre package that our international partners are seeking to anchor their distribution slates,” said QED International CEO Bill Block.

“With the fantastic cast, and the high-voltage, wildly entertaining source material, this project is an outstanding addition to QED’s global production, financing and sales line-up.”

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with QED and begin a relationship with Universal Pictures,” said Worldview CEO Christopher Woodrow. “Vince Vaughn is a dynamic actor and we know he will deliver another strong performance.”

QED’s sales slate for AFM includes Takashi Miike’s The Outsider to star Tom Hardy, which Worldview will finance.
