EXCLUSIVE: Cologne-based Belle Epoque Films, the German producer of Guillaume Nicloux’s Berlinale film The Nun, is to produce cartoonist Pascal Rabaté’s next feature.
Tar and Feathers (Du Goudron et Des Plumes) is based on the currently successful and exhilaratingly innovative live circus spectacular.
Producer Nicole Ringhut told Screen that shooting will begin in April on the German-French co-production with Sami Bouajila and Isabelle Carré confirmed for the leads.
In addition, she is developing an as-yet-untitled political thriller as the debut fiction feature for the documentary filmmaker Nadav Schirman who is currently in post-production on The Green Prince, the third part of his trilogy that started with Champagne Spy and In The Dark Room.
And Markus Sehr’s comedy Do It Yourself is scheduled to go before the camera in early 2014.
