Arclight Films is in discussions with EFM buyers on the Bruce Beresford project Zebras after picking up international sales rights.

Sales chief Mark Lindsay has licensed French rights to Metropolitan ahead of an autumn start in South Africa. The film is based on a true story about an aspiring music producer who assembles a team of both black and white football players called the Zebras. He then faces the monumental task of teaching the players to overcome their natural suspicion of each other following years of Apartheid.

David Williamson wrote the screenplay and producers are Michael Donovan, Jim McElroy, Marta McElroy and Marlow de Mardt. John Ptak and Floyd Kane are on board as executive producers.

“We are thrilled to be working with Bruce Beresford on this amazing true story,” Arclight chief Gary Hamilton said. “We believe this story will strike the right emotional chords with audiences around the world as it is a heartwarming tale of faith and courage.”
