FilmNation acquires international rights to The Imitation Game

EXCLUSIVE: Glen Basner and his sales team will introduce The Imitation Game to buyers at the EFM. Benedict Cumberbatch is attached to star in the drama, which CAA represents for US rights.

Teddy Schwarzman’s Black Bear Pictures is fully financing the story of Alan Turing, the brilliant but troubled mathematician who helped the Allies win the Second World War when he cracked the notorious Enigma code and was prosecuted after the war for being gay.

Principal photography on The Imitation Game is scheduled to begin this summer. Morten Tyldum directs from a screenplay by Graham Moore and Schwarzman produces alongside Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky.

FilmNation’s Berlin sales slate includes Castle Rock’s untitled Hugh Grant rom-com that Marc Lawrence will direct and also stars Marisa Tomei.
