Hopscotch strikes double deal with WestEnd

London-based WestEnd Films has secured high-profile sales to Hopscotch in Australia for two of its main EFM titles, Albert Nobbs and the recently announced A Late Quartet.

Frank Cox and Troy Lum, who negotiated the deal, have acquired Quartet, written and directed by Yaron Zilberman starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener and Christopher Walken; as well as Ireland-set Nobbs, which sees Glenn Close playing a woman who has to pretend to be a man.

Albert Nobbs, which finished shooting Feb 5, marks the third Rodrigo García-directed film released by the Hopscotch, after Nine Lives and Mother And Child.

“We are really pleased to be involved in these two high quality projects and to be continuing our relationship with WestEnd and Rodrigo García,” said Troy Lum. “We think that both films will have strong appeal to an adult audience that demand strong, intelligent entertainment.”

WestEnd Films premieres Michal Aviad’s Invisible in Panorama and will show the first footage from Albert Nobbs at EFM.
