Selections include Ulrich Seidl’s Paradise: Hope and Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land.

The Berlinale has announced the first six titles for its 2013 Competition programme.

They include the final part of Ulrich Seidl’s Paradise trilogy (part one premiered in Cannes and part two in Venice) and the international premiere of Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land [pictured] starring Matt Damon.

The six titles are:

Gloria by Sebastián Lelio (Chile/Spain) [world premiere]

Nobody’s Daughter Haewon (Nugu-ui Ttal-do Anin) by Hong Sangsoo (Korea) [world premiere]

Paradise: Hope (Paradies: Hoffnung) by Ulrich Seidl (Austria/France/Germany) [world premiere]

Child’s Pose (Poziţia Copilului) by Călin Peter Netzer (Romania) [world premiere]

Promised Land by Gus Van Sant (US)

The Croods by Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders (US) [world premiere]

Also, Berlinale Special will present the world premiere of Christian Rost and Claus Strigel’s documentary Redemption Impossible (Unter Menschen).
