EXCLUSIVE: 13 Films licenses Germany and all German-speaking rights in all media to Constantin Film.

13 Films has licensed Germany and all German-speaking rights in all media to Constantin Film for Extortion starring Frank Grillo and Ving Rhames.

Phil Volken is scheduled to commence production on his directorial debut in Puerto Rico this month and produces with Alina Shraybman.

Extortion centres on a doctor and his family who fall foul of local fishermen in the Bahamas after a joyride leaves them stranded on an island.

Rounding out the cast are Jake McLaughlin, Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi from Captain Phillips and Nicky Whalen.

13 Films president Tannaz Anisi and her team handle worldwide rights.

“Constantin is one of the leading independent distributors in Germany and as such, is the perfect partner to release Extortion to German audiences,” said Anisi. “I look forward to collaborating with them on what promises to be a very entertaining and action-packed film as production starts this month,” said Anisi.

The sales slate includes action-horor Untot to star Hayden Christensen; Chronically Metropolitan with Shiloh Fernandez, Chris Noth, Mary-Louise Parker and Ashley Benson; and supernatural thriller Voice From The Stone with Emilia Clarke from Game Of Thrones.
