IFC Films has picked up North American rights to Natalia Smirnoff’s Argentinean drama Puzzle following its world premiere in competition at the Berlinale.

Carousel Films’ Gabriele Pastore and La Ninas Pictures’ Caroline Dhainaut produced the story of a housewife who finds comfort in doing jigsaws. Maria Onetto, Gabriel Goity and Arturo Goetz star.

IFC Films plans to take Puzzle on the autumn festival circuit and release it shortly thereafter.

Elizabeth Nastro, IFC Films director of acquisitions and co-productions, negotiated the deal with Emilie Georges and Tanja Meissner of Memento Films International.

Meissner said Memento had already licensed Puzzle to more than 15 territories with several others still under negotiation.
