The LA-based production, financing and sales company has picked up its second film from Sundance and will introduce Drake Doremus’ acclaimed drama to buyers in Berlin.

Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones star in the story of a British exchange student who has a tumultuous impact on the lives of her US hosts. Amy Ryan, Mackenzie Davis and Kyle MacLachlan round out the key cast.

Doremus and Ben York Jones co-wrote the screenplay and the Breathe In producers are Steve Rales and Mark Roybal of Indian Paintbrush and Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling of Super Crispy Entertainment.

“Sundance has proven to be a robust market for the type of visionary, filmmaker-driven product that international buyers have come to expect from QED,” said QED president of international sales Daniel Diamond, who negotiated the deal with UTA Independent Film Group.

“We responded to Breathe In immediately, consider Drake to be one of the most talented new directors working, and look forward to including this exceptional film as part of the growing slate of films we’re bringing to market in Berlin.”

QED previously acquired sales rights at Sundance to Toy’s House, which CBS Films will release in the US.

The EFM sales roster includes Arnold Schwarzenegger thriller Ten, Are We Officially Dating? with Zac Efron and Imogen Poots, John Turturro’s Fading Gigolo starring Turturro and Woody Allen and supernatural thriller Haunt with Jacki Weaver.
