The competition will give film-makers the chance to interpret a script written by Geoffrey Fletcher, who won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for Precious in 2009.

Drinks brand Bombay Sapphire has launched a film-making competition - in conjunction with the Tribeca Film Festival - giving film-makers the chance to make a short film based on a script by Oscar winning script writer Geoffrey Fletcher.

Filmmakers can submit an interpretation of Fletcher’s script from May 8. A judging panel, including Fletcher and industry players put together by the Tribeca Film Festival, will select five winners from a shortlist of entries who will then go on to produce and direct their own individual films. They will have their international premieres early 2013.

The script is already available to view online.
