The 22nd American Pavilion at Cannes will be hosting a series of discussion events throughout the festival, including a film financing panel with Stuart Ford (IM Global), Robert Kessell (Overture) and Michael Schaefer (Summit Entertainment), to be moderated by ScreenInternational editor Mike Goodridge.

Other topics up for discussion will be marketing strategies, women film-makers and a special “American directors in Cannes” panel with David Robert Mitchell and Cam Archer, whose films The Myth Of The American Sleepover and Shit Year are screening at the festival.

There will also be a short films panel during which actor turned director James Franco will be discussing his short The Clerk’s Tale.

Sundance Institute publicity manager Amy McGee has been appointed as programming director for the American Pavilion, with more events expected to be announced next week.
