Revolver has picked up UK rights to Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience following its world premiere at Tribeca last month.

Revolver negotiated the rights deal with Magnolia International.

The film stars Sasha Grey as a high class Manhattan escort in the days leading up to Barack Obama’s 2008 US Presidential election victory.

Earlier in Cannes, Revolver announced that it had taken UK rights to Cary Joji Fukunaga’s Sin Nombre in the distributor’s first deal with Focus Features. Other recent pickups include comedy horror Diagnosis: Death, from the team behind Flight Of The Conchords, and Paddy Breathnach’s Red Mist.
