Norwegian film directors Unni Straume, Petter Næss and Jens Lien have joined Zentropa International Norway, it was announced in Cannes yesterday (May 20).
The long-term strategy is for the company (Zentropa’s Oslo-based production arm) to develop and produce projects with the trio, who are recognised as among the key Norwegian film-makers of their generation.
Danish production company Zentropa is to set up Norwegian based Zentropa Norge to focus on the production of Norwegian films. The company will also co-produce films in collaboration other Norwegian and foreign film companies. The scheme was made possible by £150,000 funding from the devolution deal for Cornwall.
Directed by Matthew Holmes, the feature is set to begin shooting in 2025.
English title for Un Beau Soleil Intérieur, set to open Directors’ Fortnight, also announced.
