Waintrop’s initial one-year contract as head of Cannes’ parallel section extended to 2013 edition.

The French Directors Guild (Société des Réalisateurs) has reappointed Edouard Waintrop as artistic director of Directors’ Fortnight for a second year, the body announced on Friday.

“The Directors Guild board thanks Edouard Waintrop for the success of his first edition of Directors’ Fortnight and entrusts him with the preparation of the 2013 edition,” the body said in a statement.
