Film London, Ile de France renew deal

The Ile de France Film Commission and Film London have renewed their partnership to develop promotion of their respective regions and international productions.

Under the terms of the agreement up to four French producers will attend the Film London Production Finance Market (PFM) (16-17 October 2013) and up to four British post production and SFX professionals from London will attend ParisFX 201 (December 4-5), organised by the Film Commission Ile-de-France.

The partnership has so far seen 22 French projects presented at the PFM.

Collaboration between the two regions has seen several productions shoot in both London and Ile de France in recent years, including Red II, directed by Dean Parisot and starring Bruce Willis and Antony Hopkins, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo and Fernando Meirelles’ 360.

Adrian Wootton, chief executive of Film London and the British Film Commission, said: “I am so pleased to renew this partnership with our fantastic Ile de France colleagues. In the past three years we have seen a great exchange of talent, which has had a positive impact on our respective industries, and I believe that is only set to grow.

“I believe this partnership represents an intelligent response to competition and collaboration, recognising the similarities and differences between our respective organizations and I look forward to exploring how we can expand our work together.”
