EXCLUSIVE: A Castle in Italy also racking up sales.

Paris-based sales company Films Distribution (FD) have been enjoying a raft of sales with it black comedy E.L. Katz’s Cheap Thrills.

The feature has sold to Australia (Madman), Canada (Pacific Northwest Pictures), Germany and UK (Koch Media).

Dark comedy Cheap Thrills stars Pat Healy as a new father in dire straits who gets involved in a deadly game of dare with an eccentric couple he meets in a bar to raise some cash.

The film won an audience award at SXSW this year and Films Distribution co-chief Nicolas Brigaud-Robert described it as “The Hangover for adults”.

The company has also sold Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi’s Palme d’Or contender A Castle in Italy to Portugal (Atalanta), Brazil (Imovision) and Italy (Teodora).

FD have also pre-sold Jean-Baptiste Andrea’s Brotherhood of Tears starring Jérémie Rénier to Telepool for Germany.
