Santa Monica-based Lightning Entertainment has reported a strong response to the slate led by a slew of UK deals with High Fliers, BskyB and Vertigo.

High Fliers has acquired home entertainment and VoD rights to Terry George’s Whole Lotta Sole starring Brendan Fraser, comedy Struck By Lightning and romance Love And Honor with Liam Hemsworth [pictured]. BskyB picked up pay-TV rights for the trio.

Lightning has also licensed all UK rights to Vertigo for the documentary How To Make Money Selling Drugs featuring interviews with 50 Cent, Eminem and Susan Sarandon.

Action thriller Five Thirteen received its market premiere here and has gone to Atlantic Film for Scandinavia, while Jigsaw Entertainment picked up family film Heaven’s Door for Australia and New Zealand.

In South Korea Media Bros took all rights to revenge thriller Scorned starring AnnaLynne McCord and Billy Zane. Lumix Media took Struck By Lightning and Sookie Pictures bought Love And Honor.

Lightning vp of sales Mathilde Epstein and Alexandra Cocean negotiated the deals.
