German sales companies Media Luna New Films and ARRI Worldsales have unveiled a raft of new titles being premiered at Cannes’ Marché du Film,

Media Luna’s Ida Martins told ScreenDaily that she will have market premieres of four films:

  • Argentinean Marco Berger’s second feature Hawaii about the relationship between childhood friends;
  • Hong Kong film-maker Scud’s fifth feature Voyage [pictured], which saw him filming in Europe and Mongolia for the first time;
  • Diederik Ebbinge’s Rotterdam Audience Award-winner Matterhorn;
  • Jonas d’Adesky’s Three Kids about a trio of 12-year-olds beginning a new life after the earthquake in Port-au-Prince.

In addition, Martins has just signed deals to represent another five films, ranging from Alberto Morais’ sensitive children’s film The Kids From The Port and Benjamin Johns’ crime drama The Traveler to Ingo Biermann’s love story between two women Nordland and Ecuadoran director Victor Arregui’s The Facilitator.

Media Luna will also have a promo of footage from the first film to be produced from East Timor: Beatriz’s War co-directed by Bety Reis and Luigi Acquisto.

ARRI Worldsales

Family entertainment is strongly represented in the Cannes sales line-up for Munich-based ARRI Worldsales.

The action adventure V8 – Start Your Engines! by Joachim Masannek, the director of The Wild Soccer Bunch films, will have its market world premiere in Cannes.

There will also be screenings of Wolfgang Groos’ box-office hit Vampire Sisters and Bernd Sahling’s UPSIDEdown.

In addition, ARRI has a teaser of the stereo 3D family animation feature Ploe – You Never Fly Alone, and additional footage of Alain Gsponer’s The Little Ghost, based on the international bestseller by the late Otfried Preussler, as well as a first look at Caroline Link’s Exit Marrakech and Edgar Reitz’s eagerly anticipated Die Andere Heimat.
